Grange Academy is a community special academy for pupils aged 5-16 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including moderate learning difficulties and autism.

Since arriving at Grange Academy in January 2016, I have been delighted to witness a swift improvement in school effectiveness. The hard work of staff, pupils, and their families has raised expectations and secured a belief that we can achieve great things together. This is enabling pupils to progress and develop extremely well.

These improvements have been verified by Her Majesty's Inspector, who wrote the following after a July 2016 section 8 inspection: ".....the right pace of change and the lift in staff’s morale are marking the beginning of a remarkable recovery".

We were delighted school improvement was again recognised in December 2016. The notes of Her Majesty’s Inspector’s visit state, “Significant progress has been made since the previous full inspection of the school and the previous HMI visit.”

We will continue to improve and refine what we do in order that pupils do as well as they possibly can.
